First and foremost, the stock plug is made from cheap, soft metals that will round out over time, becoming extremely difficult to get out in the event it rounds out completely. Secondly, its not magnetic. Over time, your engine can begin to add small fragments of metal to the oil, and by having a magnet attached to the drain plug, you can rest assured that you’ll be extracting those fragments from the engine at each oil change.
