The 2010-2014 SVT Raptor already has the kind of presence that makes enthusiasts grin every time they fire it up. With the 6.2L V8 under the hood and a chassis built for serious terrain, it is a truck that was designed to be pushed hard. The S3M Phase 2 Package takes that solid foundation and helps it perform the way many owners always felt it should from the factory. By combining improved airflow, a larger throttle body, and custom ECU tuning, this package sharpens the truck’s response and unlocks stronger power throughout the rev range. S&B Cold Air Intake Improves Engine Airflow
Everything starts with airflow, and the S&B cold air intake gives the 6.2L V8 a much easier path for breathing. The factory intake does the job for everyday driving, but it can restrict airflow when the engine demands more air under heavy throttle. S&B replaces the restrictive components with a high flow system that brings in a larger volume of cooler outside air. At the center of the setup is a reusable oiled filter that features deep pleats and durable silicone ends that hold up well to engine bay heat. The filter sits inside a redesigned air box that helps shield incoming air from heat while allowing the engine to pull in more air overall. With smoother airflow entering the intake system, the engine responds more quickly and builds power more naturally as the revs climb.
BBK Throttle Body for Faster Engine Response
Once the air moves through the intake, it passes through the throttle body before entering the engine. The BBK 85mm throttle body increases the size of that opening compared to the factory unit, which allows a greater volume of air to move into the intake manifold. This change has a noticeable effect on how the truck responds to throttle input. The larger bore helps the engine react more quickly when you press the accelerator and allows the intake system to move air more efficiently at higher engine speeds. BBK machines this throttle body from high quality aluminum and designs it as a direct replacement for the stock unit, which makes installation straightforward. Paired with the improved airflow from the intake, it helps the Raptor deliver stronger and more immediate performance.
SCT X4 Tuner with 5-Star Custom Performance Tunes
The final piece that ties everything together is the SCT X4 tuner loaded with 5-Star custom tunes. This handheld device connects directly to the truck through the OBD-II port and allows you to load performance calibrations designed specifically for the 6.2L Raptor platform. These custom tunes adjust ignition timing, fuel delivery, throttle mapping, and transmission behavior so the engine can fully benefit from the improved airflow. The difference shows up right away in stronger acceleration, smoother power delivery, and more confident shifting. The X4 also works as a helpful monitoring tool that lets you read diagnostic trouble codes, track engine data, and datalog performance information. 5-Star’s tunes turn up your 2010 to 2014 6.2L Raptor’s power by adjusting its fuel curves, ignition timing, fan control, and a ton of other variables so that your truck makes huge amounts of horsepower and torque. 5-Star’s custom tuning even takes into account tire size, drivetrain, and axle ratio so that your F150 operates perfectly with your choice of tune. 5-Star’s custom tunes are available in several variations for 87, 89, 91, or 93 octane gasoline to give you a wide range of tuning options.
The 6.2L SVT Raptors may come packing more than decent firepower from the factory, but the factory tuning can still make the truck feel a bit sluggish at times, especially on the street in lower RPMs. 5-Star’s custom tuning for the 6.2L Raptors helps change that by not only improving peak gains, but providing increased torque all throughout the rev range, especially in the low end where the stock tuning tends to lunk around until 3500rpm. The improved low-end power carries all the way through your Raptor’s rev range, giving you more power on tap whenever you need it. 5-Star’s test truck put down about a peak 280 horsepower and 300lb-ft of torque to the wheels on its factory tune. With a 5-Star’s custom 93 octane Performance Tune, the truck hit a peak 295 horsepower and 320lb-ft of torque. While the peak gains of 15horsepower and 320lb-ft of torque are nice, the low end gains below 3500 rpm spiked up to a whopping 40 to 45lb-ft of torque over stock, which greatly improves the off-the-line performance of your Raptor. Stage 3’s 5-Star Custom Tuning Step-by-Step:
1. Place your order for 5-Star’s Custom Tunes.
2. Stage 3 sends you a “blank” tuner without custom tunes.
3. Connect your tuner to your truck and pull its ECU strategy code.
4. Fill out our online tune form with your info.
5. 5-Star creates your tunes, you will be emailed a link to download them.
6. Download 5-Star’s tunes to your PC and then load them to your tuner using SCT’s Device Updater Software.
7. Load your 5-Star Custom Tune of choice into your F150.
SCT’s software is ONLY compatible with Microsoft Windows computers. Once the tunes are successfully loaded onto the tuner, you can tune your truck.
